Bu bağlamda kendi bölgemiz ve ötesindeki ülkelere ulaşmayı başardık. Daha uzaktaki komşu ülkelerle tesis ettiğimiz diyalog yoluyla, siyasi uzlaşma alanlarımızı genişletmeye çalıştık, ekonomik dayanışmayı zenginleştirdik ve kültürel ve sosyal anlayıştan oluşan köprüler inşa ettik. Bu kadar iddialı bir politikayla ilgili kesin yargılara varmak için tabii ki on yıl kısa bir süredir. Ama şimdiden hatırı sayılır ölçüde yol katettiğimizi görebiliyoruz. Sadece komşularımızla bile, son on yıl içerisinde ticari hacmimizi dörde katlamış durumdayız. Birçok olayda, ülke olarak barışı sağlamak ve uzlaşma sağlamak açısından etkili bir rol oynadık. Örneğin Afganistan ve Pakistan arasında iş birliği oluşturmak adına ortak bir platform oluşturma çabalarımız veya Bosna-Hersek ve Sırbistan arasında iş birliği sağlama doğrultusunda gösterdiğimiz gayretler şimdiden meyvelerini vermeye başlamıştır"
