Maros Sefcovic : “Je pense que nous apprécierions vraiment beaucoup si les médias mais aussi les hommes politiques au niveau national nous aidaient à expliquer pourquoi nous réclamons une hausse de 4.6%. Parce qu’aujourd’hui les gouvernements nationaux se plaignent et demandent ‘pour quelle raison les factures ne peuvent-elles pas être payées ?’ Parce que depuis la fin de l’année, il nous manque 11 milliards d’euros pour rembourser les Etats membres. Mais ce monsieur demandait que faisons-nous au niveau de l’administration, quel effort faisons nous. Je pense qu’il est très important de souligner que le budget de l’administration représente moins de 6% du budget total, dont 94% est redonné aux Etats membres. Néanmoins nous réalisons que 6% c’est important et je suggère de réduire de 5% le personnel, j’ai suggéré d’augmenter le nombre d’heures travaillées sans augmentation de salaire, de repousser l‘âge de la retraite et de prendre également toutes les mesures qui sont actuellement mises en oeuvre au niveau national”

Et je suis vraiment très proche d’eux mais il y a l’administration grecque, l’administration italienne, la slovaque également, ce qui me surprend étant donné que c’est mon pays. Et en général il y a des administrations assez efficaces en Suède, au Danemark, dans les pays…”

Maros Sefcovic : “Je pense que ça dépendra beaucoup du sujet de ces initiatives parce qu’il est assez évident que si un million de citoyens poussent pour quelque chose ils ont une influence sur l’agenda des débats politiques, et conduisent à ce qu’il y ait des échanges de points de vue très sérieux sur le sujet donné. Quand un million de signatures sont rassemblées nous devons organiser une audition avec le parlement européen et étudier la proposition sous tous ses aspects et ensuite la Commission européenne doit communiquer pour dire clairement ce que nous allons faire. Si nous allons légiférer, ce qui j’en suis sûr sera souvent le cas, si nous avons besoin d’informations complémentaires ou d’une étude d’impact”

Maros Sefcovic : “Quand nous avons lancé les politiques d‘égalité des chances au sein de la Commission, il y avait très peu de femmes exerçant des responsabilités dans l’exécutif ou au niveau des cadres. Dès lors nous avons adopté une stratégie pour améliorer significativement la situation. D’ici 2014 nous souhaitons que 25% des cadres supérieurs soient des femmes, nous souhaitons que 30% des cadres de la Commission soient des femmes et nous voulons plus de 43% de femmes parmi les fonctionnaires de l’exécutif. Ce matin j’ai présenté lors d’une réunion les derniers chiffres et je suis absolument certain que nous irons au-delà de nos objectifs parce que nous sommes déjà aujourd’hui très très proche de ces objectifs”
